The use of robots in our daily, Busy live
has lots of importance. Robots are used in several fields and in different
works. The robots have helped us in jobs which are basic but important like
diffusing of bombs, Finding out enemy secret camps, Spying, Traveling, etc.
Asimo itself a sensible and intelligent robot having sensors in it. It automatically sense heartbeat, temperature e.t.c.
ASIMO Honda robot is a most advanced and
most intelligent robot in human development history. It has completely changed
the perception of human life. Although, it is not available locally but
scientist believe that this whole new human era is our future. The creation of this robot was a challenge
for Honda Company. The challenge included the teaching the laws of mathematics,
the laws of Physics, the behavior of humans, human body language, to ASIMO etc.
We see this robot or advanced humanoid as a multipurpose robot but a lot of hard work and effort has been put together to create this robot. The first humanoid was manufactured in 2000 by Honda Company. Then an advanced version of this robot was presented in 2005 which was lot faster than its previous model. In 2007 it was once again updated giving a facility to robot to work in coordination and having an updated intelligence version.
The Physical features of this robot are as follow:-
1. It weighs up to 50 kg (110 pound).
2. Its height is 4ft 3inch (130cm).
3. Maximum walking or running speed is 4.3 mph (7Kph).
4. It has a grasping force of 0.5 kg.
5. It has gyroscope and Acceleration sensor in its Torso.
6. It has 6-axis Foot Area sensor in its legs.
7. Its control unit includes Operating control unit and Wireless transmission unit.
8. It has rechargeable lithium Ion 51.8V battery and weighs about 13 pounds.
9. It uses are at workstations.
ASIMO’s body is made up of Magnesium alloy with plastic resin thus, reducing its weight. It has total three light indicators consisting of green light indicating Low-level power on, White light indicating that the robot is ready to boot up completely and Red light indicating that it is ready to walk. It has total 57 DOF and total 5 joints including:-
1. HEAD: Neck Joint (Up/Down, Left right Rotation).
2. ARMS: Shoulder Joints, Elbow Joints and Wrist Joints.
3. HANDS: 4 finger including a thumb also.
4. HIP: Hip rotation.
5. LEGS: Crotch Joint, Knee Joint and Ankle Joints.
